fuel tank woes

Hello all.

Day 1.
Bought a vented gas cap that failed to vent.
Vapor locked my car
Wrecked the fuel pump.

Replaced the pump
Replaced the cap
Replaced the fuel filter
Small pc of plastic in the filter traveled to needle and seat and fuel
failed to stop flowing.
Poof... a fire.
Luckily, I had the hose running to cool off the motor to work on
it...phew.

Rebuilt the carb,
Replaced plastic fram filter with steel one
Replaced the line from pump to carb...looks great.

Still having fuel delivery problems.

Today used a quart mason jar and hose to test forward of the
tank...successful.

Time for a new tank? Where to get one?

Need to pull the tank and find out what is clogging the fuel line.

Question: how do I clean the tank? I assume it needs coating inside 
Should I sand blast it? 
Never done anything like this before!!!
