that sounds like a shorty truck 727. the 727s should all be the same length for passanger cars.... it will work but it will require a longer drive shaft.you could just find a regular 727!

Wow...I measured the current transmission in the car - it's about 36" long. Just got back from measuring the "new style" 727 in the truck - it's about 24" long.

Guess I gotta get a new driveshaft too, eh?

Oh yeah, the rear end is a 9-1/4, not a Dana 60. And yes, it is about 3-4" wider than the rear that's on the car now.

Oh well.
