on the side of the valve body, where the shift linkage is, there's a metal 
piece that resembles a comb. it's the detent for the shifter mechanism. they're 
different from PB's to the 65 trans. if you swap it for the earlier style 
you'll be able to get the shift cable adjusted properly.
