Hi Andy,

I would definitely recommend a sealed battery box that vents to the outside via a breather tube.
The battery off gasses are combustible and a friend of mine had a nice explosion in the trunk
of his race car before switching to the sealed w/ venting type of box.

Does anyone have their battery mounted in the trunk of their car, for whatever purpose (weight distribution for racing, to clean up the engine compartment, etc)?

If so, are there any problems or difficulties with having it mounted there?

I'm considering mounting mine there, if for no other reason than to clean up the engine compartment. I've heard though that I need to beware of venting issues, anyone have any knowledge of this?

Summit has a trunk mount battery kit for about 40 bucks that I'm looking at getting.

Thanks,
Andy
