Hi Neal
             I store them  flat ,but thats only because its convienient,I
don't think theres a problem with storing them upright , I've had torsion
bars for my fifties stuff stored for years
with no detrimental effects.
The bars are also marked ,left or right along with the last three digits of
the part number ,just check the end of the bar.
Just don't mix them side for side ...thats bad cause they break.
