A friend of mine was at the Shakopee Minnesota car show and took a picture of a Blue '69 Camaro with a 440 , so it looks like somebody beat ya to it. The '58 Plymouth with the GM yeech mill under the hood would annoy me as well and regrettably a short while ago a White '62 Dodge showed up on Ebay with the engine compartment full of GM ,it was sad and needed to be saved. In fact there was some discussion about it amongst some in the clubhouse. A while ago I thought I'd shift gears and I joined a street rod organization,( why I don't know but I'm better now) I hung around for about a year (they weren't a bad bunch ) but after a while I mentioned that with all their emphasis on individuality a prominent trend tended to present iself , and I took no time in pointing it out after I attended one of the "Rod Runs" , and that was excessive use of the thirties Ford body shell in some form and the omnipresent 350/350 combination with a Holley Double dumper on top and Moroso this and Moroso all over it ,in short I just didn't fit in with the mind set and still don't so I soon departed . My 41 Dodge that I was going to Rod is now in my Daughters hands and will remain bone stock. The small block chevy thing is quite the phenomenon, but it stands to reason when parts for these things hang off every street corner and they're cheap which is probably whats at the bottom of the whole thing. However I feel your pain!!!! I was looking through a Auto trader type book a friend lent me at the car show today and I almost popped my gaskets. First there was the usual "34 plymouth 2 dr sedan 350 with 400 turbo , 40 Dodge coupe 350/400 turbo, 39 Ply coupe set up for BBC" Then I came across one that blew my mind , "58 Plymouth wagon. 350 Chevy with 350 turbo" That did it. I am now on the hunt for a Corvair, a Corvette and a 67 Camaro SS. I can see the ads now "65 Corvair Spyder. Volkswagen engine. twin carbs. imaculate throughout." "67 Corvette Split window coupe . Car is immaculate. 8 3/4 rear end with 4:56 gears. 426 hemi with torqflite" and the final insult will do me proud. "Original one owner 67 Camaro SS four speed. 302 Ford with C4 and 9 Inch rear end" It reminded me of once at Cayuga Raceway a fellow was ahead of me in the staging lanes had a 69 Dart powered by a 427 Chev. His license plate read "Mothers Polish" I pointed to it and said to him "Obviously" My apologies to all who may be offended . I realize it was not my shining moment and i was sorry right after I said it but it sure does tick me off when i see one of our beautiful Mopars with one of those weird motors in it. I sure hope there aren't (but i know there probably is) one of our 62 to 65 Mopars with one of these rodents under the hood!
