I went through this a few years ago,the block still sits cause of other things that came up.Pipe thread by nature is tapered,got a wee leak, give it one more turn.What I discovered was that the pick up tube I got is indeed pipe thread but is not tapered,genuine Mother Mopar too.I do recall having a heck of a time tapping the hole in the block,I ended up using a tapered reamer to make it easier.Loctite sounds ok to me, I would avoid the welding as Iron and steel dont mix well in a weld. You could probably get away with it though,as no real stress is involved, kind of like a glue,the wire will seem to stick to the iron but wont take any stress,ask me how I know and you will get Quite a story. I was talked into it and I came out looking like a poopy head. Stan
