There are two kinds of pipe thread: Straight, and Tapered. Mopar oil pickups
are straight pipe, not tapered. Straight pipe taps can be purchased from
McMaster-Carr, which is on the net somewhere.

reamer to make it easier.Loctite sounds ok to me, I would avoid the welding
as Iron and steel dont mix well in a weld. You could probably get away with
it though,as no real stress is involved, kind of like a glue,the wire will
seem to stick to the iron but wont take any stress,ask me how I know and you
will get Quite a story. I was talked into it and I came out looking like a
