  Well, I looked at both, a 1/2 pipe nipple and the 3/8 pick up.  You are 
correct, it's a non tapered thread on the pick up.  I guess I can chase the 
tapered thread I already made with a straight one, or do you think the straight 
pick up will be ok going in the tapered hole?  Learnin every day.....Joe
