A 413 block can be bored to 426 size and even a bit more, although there isn't necessarily a good reason to do so unless you have found, say, some 426 pistons. May be better to keep the extra cylinder wall thickness. One reason to bore larger with a 413, if you are going to use real max wedge or equivelent (Indy, etc) heads, is that you have to notch the 413 bores for the big intake valves, while I'm not sure that you do with a 426, don't have any experience with that particular combo. Both 413 and 426 pistons can be found in flat-top versions but not quite as easily as 440 pistons for example. Domed 413 and/or 426 wedge pistons have to be custom made unless you find an original or NORS set. The "street wedge" moniker applies to the 64/65 426 wedge put in cars, flat top pistons, single four barrel.

On the stroker crank issue, one of the vendors that advertises in the Mopar magazines offers complete stroker rotating assemblies for both 383 and 400 blocks, I can't recall exactly what the displacement ends up being with the 383 block. I guess the main reason to choose one over the other would be that you already have one or the other block, since everything else in the short block is going to be changed anyway. This could be cool in a situation where one has the original number's matching block for, say, a 69 Roadrunner, could have around 440 displacement with the original engine in place.

Can you use a 413 block to make a 426 Max Wedge? How much can you bore
it out safely? Can you put Max Wedge heads on it? Thanks, Bob Turner
