The 1/2 pipe die will go all the way on the threads without cutting any metal. The OD of the pickup tube is just too small,alas.I added brass to the upper side of the threads via brazing it on thinly. I thenused the tapered die to thread the brass for a proper fit in the tapered block threads.It is important that there is agood seal,you don't want your pump to suck air. Stan
