When the additives evaporate from the old gas they deposit varnish deposits on the inside of the tank. When it happened to me I used the add fresh gas routine. But I still had problems I couldn't diagnose even after several fillups. One of the oldtime mechanics I worked with told me that my tank was probably coated with the evaporated additives creating a varnish & as it got dissolved by the fresh gas over time it was contaminating my fresh gas if the vehicle sat for a few days. I had to remove the tank & flush it out with some fuel tank cleaner & all this dark brown crud came out. After that I was trouble free. 2c Hammer __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
