the best test would be to hook up a mechanical pressure gauge and the light 
sending unit on a tee. as the light flickers check the pressure gauge and 
compare the two. as far as a lack of baffles all of sudden createing a pressure 
drop, probably not. i have seen high mileage engines that are a quart low, no pan 
baffles, have pressure problems during stopping.
