Thanks, Schuyler.
They were new wheel cylinders, as I recall, and no proprotioning valve. Yeah,
the weird thing is that everything worked fine before I replaced the front
shoes.
It may be that the cylinder pistons are riding in a different spot on the
cylinder, a spot that has buildup, as others have said. So the seal cups don't
seal as tightly until the buildup gets worn down.

Hey Paul,
Did you get new wheel cylinders or rebuilt? I remember
having problems with wheel cylinders sticking after replacing
them several times I just could not get even braking.
I guess those things just sit on the shelf for to long?
Or you have to get rebuild kits and do it yourself?
or you can throw in the towel on the drum brakes
and upgrade to disc brakes like I did. Although a friend of mine
honed out and re-sleeved his wheel cylinders, put new cups and
seals in and they work dang good.
Also do you need a proportioning valve with the duel reservoir master
cylinder? I know you do with the disc setup. I hope some of this
helps.
take it easy,

Schuyler

you can come buy and pick over my drum brake grave yard also. (o:
