this is just an idea. maybe your not getting the fuel to ignite during
start-up. here in the states the emmissions quality fuel does not ignite as easily
as the older fuels. on some of the older cars we have to baby them a little
until some heat builds up in the cylinder heads to keep them running. cold
temperatures make the problem worse. you can't change the fuel quality but you can
change to an ignition that is hotter. a hotter ignition will lite the fuel and
help keep the engine running until some heat builds up in the cylinder head.
an electronic ignition will probably double the voltage to the plugs. do an ohm
test on your spark plug wires to make sure they're in good shape. i doubt
that changing float levels will help, unless its too high to begin with. a
properly set choke is important in cold weather.
