Thanks for the offering, Larry. It raises a question for me, though.
The fuel pump pumps thru the gas tube to the see-thru fuel filter and then
thru another short tube to the carb. If the pump is pushing fuel in that
direction constantly, why would the closing of the carb float cause the level of fuel
in the see-thru filter to drop? Where is the air coming from that now
occupies the filter?
Answers, anyone?
Thanks.

Can anyone give me an answer on this?
Sometimes while idling my 62 poly 318, the see-thru fuel filter is completely
full of fuel. Other times, I can see the fuel pulsing into the filter so
slowly it only keeps it 1/4 full (and when it is doing this, even reving the
engine doesn't increase the slow flow in).
Is there something wrong with my fuel pump or is this normal?
Thanks for any help.
Paul
