Thank you for your reply.

My plans with the engine are my 340 block 0.030 over bored, all five 
ProGram billet 4 bolt main caps, 318 poly crank?, eagle h-beam rods, 
diamond racing pistons (flat top), edelbrock aluminum heads with roller 
rockers & some porting, final compresion ratio around 10:1. I'm not 
quite sure if I will actually get it to 500hp. I am hoping I can get 
very close to that based on the dyno test at edelbrock: 
http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/7176pp.html where they got 417HP & 
397 Ft/Lbs of torque out of a 340. I do not want to use NOS or forced 
induction. Any suggestions on how to raise the HP above edelbrock's test 
results? Without nos, will my poly crank hold out fine? Thanx!
