Earl, 
If I read your email corectly, are you saying that an early "C" body pan as well as a 187 pan will fit a '65 "B" body? The "C" body pan that I have has no cutouts, and looks very much like a "B" body pan except that it is a bit deeper behind the sump. I'm not sure if that will make a difference or not, especially when turning.

I don't get this 187 pan thing. I have one, and when I set it beside
a C body pan, which will work fine in my 65 b body, what I find is
that the sump is smaller. The cut outs are about the same, but I
don't like the smaller sump. I was luck and did not pay anything
for the 187, but I sure would not pay anymore for one of those
than I would a C body pan.

To answer you question - Yes there are a bunch of people that
just have to have a 187. I see them go on EBay for more than
a hunski all the time. All the 187's I have seen have come from
big block B bodies. I never found one in a C body.

I always use two C body pans, weld them together - the sump
part, put a couple of baffles in, and buy a longer pick-up. Not
hard to do. You just need a old block or welding table to bolt your
 pan to while welding the extra sump on. Simple - low Cost - Works.

Are these 187 pans worth more than the others?  I was told they also  fit B
motor A bodies and are highly sought after. Thgere is a notch cut in  the
sump. 
Seems many are in early C bodies.  I have a couple and will  be going to a 
swap meet to sell them.   Joe
