well basically it was 3/4 of the way to full race.   
    i have heard of this guy before-ed winfield,  the story was kind of
    neat , a real genius  of automotive,started making cams for
    motorcycles, then moved in to model t cams,  working on the miller
    race cars by the age of 14. we are talking way back in the 30s.
    apparently he made cams until 1969
