My painter uses 1200 grit to start, ends up with 2000 grit, and then buffs. I thought the paint job was great before he started the sanding process, but it looks like a mirror now.

Hi All,

I apologize for this email if it's been answered recently. I have a freshly painted car with vinyl stripes on it. How can I safely buff it and seal it to bring out the true luster? The paint is a 2 stage (base/clear). I also want to know how to safely protect the stripes. Any input is appreciated.

I have a buffer, but I haven't buffed out ANY cars before. Willing to try it on my old daily driver, but don't want to kill my new paint...

Or should I just pay to have it done? It's just a pain to do that, any would prefer to do it myself.

thanks

Thomas
