having a 4 speed makes things easier. i use the power brake port on the  
manifold. i put a nipple in that port for all vacuum readings. if you have a  
nipple at the carb base below the throttle blades that will work also. i think a  
"509" hydraulic should have a minimum of 10:1 comp. a little more than that  
wouldn't hurt. there's just too much valve overlap, and duration for a lower  
compression engine to function properly. long duration hydraulic cams aren't my 
 favorites. a moderate solid will provide the same amount of power with 
better  driviability and tunability.
