Doug,
Thank you for the excellent description of points vs. electronic 
ignition.  Personally, I've had more problems with the Mopar electronic 
ignition distributors and ECU than I ever did with a points system.  
I've replaced a distributor on my '68 and one on my '64 due to the 
engine missing at mid range.  I also had to replace an orange ECU on my 
'68.   The guy who bought my '68 has replaced it 2 more times, which 
brings me to my question:

You said the ECU will drop out at 10 - 11 volts.  I had the Mopar blue 
race voltage regulator on my '68, and I just recently removed one on my 
'64 and replaced it with an original looking electronic one.  Could the 
constant, higher voltage from the blue regulator be causing the 
electronic ignition failures?
