It should work fine. It should have a 6 bolt flange and is the same stroke as the Poly 318, 273, LA 318 and 340.

this is an LA 318 crank, not a Poly 318 crank I am wondering about. I
know its forged by the skinny balancer and i have heard tell the early
273s and 318s (LA) before 68 were all forged.
Anybody else know if this will work in a 340 for a cheap way to a
  steel crank??????
