Re: 1963 SF Antenna & Radio

Dennis,
On my 62 Dodge wagon, I've hid the radio behind the speaker grill in the dash and mounted speakers up under the dash on each side. so nothing is cut or modified just some bolted on brackets. Not very pretty, but no one can see it anyway. Oh, I did make a hinged speaker delete plate out of redwood and painted it to match the dash
because my speaker grill was cracked and broken. No one has noticed it, they just ask "where's the music coming from?" also I left the AM radio right where it is, was thinking of making the on/off knob a kill switch.
My antenna is on the right front fender, but I don't think there's any thing wrong with it on the back?
food for thought

I have a couple of questions about a 1963 Sport Fury that I am starting to work on:

It currently has the radio antenna on the back fender, I don't think this is correct. Should the antenna be on the right front fender?

I want a modern radio but I have not found any that will work in the dash and I am not cutting or modifying the dash. I am planning on either leaving the original radio in the dash or getting a delete panel. Any suggestions on what radio to install and where to install it? Any experience with units such as Secret Audio?

Thanks
Dennis
