snip i disagree here- i used to think that and now that i have some
experience i believe the seller deserves to be paid a packaging fee,
which i believe is in that inflated shipping. now, no i am not talking
about a door handle or a rear view mirror , but on a large bulky object
like a grille or a bumper u cant just "go out and find a box" to fit
that like some people think. In the end i basically had to go drive my
truck, on my time at 2.50 a gallon gas to find an appliance store that
would actually let u have the large boxes from the refrigerators, then
u have to go home and make a box with hot glue, tape , staples whatever,
then transport the thing to the post office and mail it.

Neal - you're absolutely corrrect. Closest place for me is over 20 miles away. By the time you figure your time, gas, labor that packaging fee can be expensive for the seller unless u charge according. I recently sold a Honda motor (my son's) and estimated $30 to crate it. Yes I had only $24.00 in materials but by with my time (and my son's), time to drive to the transport company, gas, I (he) didn't make what it actually sold for.
