First, take off the plastic cover and remove the terminal adapter. The original cables should be long enough. You just want to hook up the cables before you install the starter.

I bought a new chrysler mini-starter for my 318. the terminals are in a different location on the starter and look like they will be way up under the engine when installed. has anyone ever installed one of these? will i need longer battery cables?
