Thanks to all who replied to my message. My friend would like to retain the numbers-matching aspect of the cast iron manifold. He isnt really looking for all-out performance. This car is really just gonna be a cruizer anyway,he says. He'd be happy to do an exchange with someone who may have a 1967 numbers-correct manifold,if someone has one.
BTW,there is a '65 vintage carter AFB that goes with this intake,if anyone's interested.

That's what I'd do. I looked everywhere for a 64-65 intake for my 273 wagon. I payed too much for a warped one the cost me even more to straighten out. The 64-65- ones are rare. Don't mess one up if you can help it. Send it along to a guy who could use it.

Pretty much right on. Your buddy would be better off selling that intake to someone that needs it for a 64-65 and buying a Edlebrock Performer intake. Grind off the logo on the performer and paint it red and you will be good to go.

the attaching bolt diameter is smaller on the earlier 273 manifold.I`am not
sure but the bolt angle may be different.
