I just installed a master power brakes man/disc conversion pkg on my 63 spt fury conv. I
 
am very concerned about the 1 in clearance between the master cylinder and the max wedge
 
exhaust manifold. The car has a modified krammers automotive heat shield that works/looks okay.
 
I checked the exhaust manifold and master temps with a thermal heat gun. Manifoild = 650
 
master = 150.  The outside temp was 45 deg.  My engine stuff. 440 ,10.5 comp, 600 solid, 6pak. 4.10
 
gears , stage 5 iron heads.
 
question ?
 
Would headers lower my engine compartment temps?     { the engine does not run lean]
