Don I couldnt agree more. The D60 is the toughest axle for a car on the 
planet. Period. The only draw back to the truck axle is the lack of a 
pinion snubber boss.

Although if your suspension is set up properly, the loss of a snubber 
isnt the end of the world.

There are 30 spline D60 power locks on the market, which one could use 8 
3/4 axles. Friend of mine picked such a power loc up at a swap meet for 
$25.00 years ago. An 8.75 axle shaft slid right in.

Of course if the application is an A body, then custom axles are the way 
to go.
