Aw dont give up Bill, And dont baby it. I used to tell my customers Drive it like you stole it. I would scrap that oil though and go to something with some BODY. I use 40 weight at the very least and diesel truck oil (which is also Severe service gas.) I also dont use a light oil on fire up. Engines dont beark in, they break down. They need the best protection they can find. From the git go. 
I would also check your spring pressures just in case. Any help we can give if possible is available to you and I know that is from all of us.
