If you really have to stand on the pedal then the piston in the master is mismatched (piston too big) 
Smaller piston will give slightly more travel but will have a mechanical advantage in squeeze just like a lever or a set of gears. Similar princible. Rear dont do a lot of braking . in level flight  easy driving only 40% and hard braking because of weight transfer even less.
