Re: Ampmeter Bypass

Hi Bill,

I have not done my 63 yet, but i have done all my other cars.

The 63 will get the Head light relay, but there is alot more to be done before i have to worry about fixing the wiring.

I just place the relay near the Battery and you just cut into the wiring of the head lights and wire as per instuctions provided. Some cars you might be better off mounting the relay near the big group of wires that go to the Head lights? and then run a gig wire from the Battery to the relay?

As i said, the lights are brighter, and less load on the switch and wires going under the dash.

Can you send me an email to jimfmd@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with the heading "headlight relays" and i will take a picture of what and how i have done it.

Jim

Jim,

How do you setup the relay on the headlights?

I have done that mod on many cars over the years, in fact most 70s Holdens
have done this from new form the factory.

Also another good mod that i have done, is use a relay on the headlights.
This gives you brighter headlights, and also save's the switch and places
less load on the wiring.
