Just an update on my request for info on my 65 Dart GT convert and 65 Barracuda. I had mailed 2 separate envelopes with checks on 5/14. Today I received a large envelope in the mail for both cars. The cover letter for the Dart did specifiy where the car was sent (Albany Dodge in Albany NY) and was shipped from the factory on Apr 8, 65. Also on the cover letter it shows options, which they did not decode. The photocopy of the IBM card for the Dart is basically useless and most of it can't be read. Not too much of a big deal since I found the build sheet under the back seat back in 84 when I bought the car and have it completely decoded. I had found an Albany Dodge ticker on the inside of the glove box and this info just confirmed where I thought the car was sold. Now to the Barracuda - the copy of the IBM card is much more readable and was worth the $45. On the cover letter for this one, the car was shipped to Lindsay Motor Company in Weatherford TX. Says it was shipped Mar 8 65. Chrysler did in fact decode the options the Barracuda came with on the cover letter, which also jived with the IBM card. Probably about normal for the time: 273 2 barrel with a 4 speed. Tires were 7.00 X 13 WSW, Tinted windshield only, AM radio and 3.23 gears in the rear. The info was particularly useful on the Barracuda in case I decide to get a fender tag made up (original long gone). I've got the build sheet for the Barracuda but it's in pretty sad shape and not particularly readable. Also in the envelope was a copy of a Dodge and Plymouth brochure covering all car lines (which I have originals anyway). As far as I'm concerned, they're still open for business. I may go ahead and splurge on getting the info for my 65 Dart wagon and 65 Valiant Signet convert.

Thanks for the breakdown. It's a 65 Coronet 500 convertible. From what
I can tell I'm not getting any break. I'm getting "Photocopy of IBM
card & selling dealer info (no decoding) $45". The other option was
"Build Record - 1930-1967 w/ decoding, if available (includes dealer
info) $45"...same $...less info from what I can tell, unless it would
cost me $90 for build records & a. IBM card...dunno.

Make/Model
Series
Body Style
Paint information
Trim - seat style, upholstery, colour
Engine
Transmission
Equipment installed on the vehicle (standard and optional)
Serial Number - deocoded

The upper area of the card also records the date the car was shipped from
the factory.

Now, as Chrysler Historical does not have the info on hand to decode your
card, they are saying you can buy a copy of the build record for $20 less
than the normal price.   Pretty decent of them, really.

By the way, what year and make is your car?
