fixing rust

I'm sure since everyone has a classic car they have dealt with rust in one form or another on their cars. My Fury has normal rust around the rear wheelwells and around the rear window. The guy I bought it from did a good job at hiding it. How did you all go about fixing it? I have sanded the rear quarters around the rust to where it is smooth, but it looks like the panels may need fixing, or more work than I am able to do in my garage. For now I think I will just paint over them for a quick fix, but I know it isnt permenant. But, the rust around the rear window needs a little more work. How did you guys go about this problem?
