Re: Imperial Services

If you are talking about the shift conversion kit to use a 64/earlier or the 65 shifter with a 66-up transmission, I the spring goes inside the valve body IIRC. I didn't do the work myself by had the folks at Dynamic Convertor/Proformance Transmission take care of everything except the actual cable. I had talked with Sean at Dynamic before having a transmission built for my 65 Dart wagon. He said the instructions were clear and no problem. He recommended they take care of the little spring issue while dioing the transmission (said it was kind of a b*tch to do). Haven't done anything with the transmission so can't comment on how everything actually works (maybe next year after I get the motor built and car prepped).

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the reply. That's what I kinda figured is that the instructions were omitted. Hopefully I can get ahold of them and get a copy. After looking at the kit again today, I'm guessing the spring is going to go for the detent on the shifter as the selector lever in the kit is much shorter than the original and therefore wouldn't have enough leverage. I'll wait to find out for sure as I have the new transmission already assembled and don't want to take the valve body back out unless I have to.

I don't know the answer for the spring included for the throttle
pressure linkage, but FYI, the Imperial Services catalog I have (an
older one) says the kit comes with "complete illustrated instructions,"
so I assume they goofed in not sending the instructions.

Thanks,
Gary H.

the shifter kit. According to the listing on the web site, there is a
spring included for the throttle pressure linkage and I'm curious to
where that is installed. The rest I can probably figure out but it would
be nice to talk to someone who had installed one of these set ups
before. Maybe they just forgot to include instructions, I've tried
calling a couple times now and only get a busy signal. Thanks.
