Re: Clutch Linkage Question




This is all news to me. I have a diaphragm style clutch but kept the over center spring. What's the reasoning for removing it? Before all this talk about taking the spring out, I'd have just told you that until it's fully adjusted, you can expect it not to come back up.

Borge and beck style systems are what the car is meant for anyway. A lot of times you can get the borge and beck pressure plates rebuilt for very little cost. For instance I sent in a hays plate to be rebuilt and it only cost $50. It was a $400 kit to begin with.  Mopar used the 3 finfer style pressure plate. Maybe
 that explains the center over spring.

 bite if not handled carefully.
