RE: 1963 Borg Warner 4 speed questino

ADMIN: Topica's Web based bulletin board is broken since 1-1-2008. Members using that are unable to read or send messages. Topica says they are fixing. We will see. Sorry for the hassle. I am thinking of moving this discussion to another format / address. -- Gary H -- Contact me at 62to65mopar AT ornocar DOT org.

I still have the one I ran in my '62 Belvedere for some years, when I took it out on parting out the car, it was popping out of second. I never had it checked, but a trans guy suggested either bent shift fork (as someone else already mentioned) from my "speed shifts" of which I made quite a few, or worn dogs on the gear itself. As I was able to keep it second by keeping a bit of pressure on the shifter, he favored the worn dogs theory over the bent fork theory.Bill & Kathi Parker, South Central Indiana'60 Chrysler Saratoga kustom; '62 Plymouth Max Wedge; '64 Dart convertible; '65 Barracuda \6; '65 Imperial; '68 Barracuda FB 340-S; '69 Barracuda FB now 360; '70 Challenger now 440; '72 Cuda '340

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. I.e., send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
