Plastic re-chroming

I removed my instrument cluster today from my '64 Belvedere and want to get the plastic re-chromed. Has anyone on the list used CV Vacuum platers or Performance Car Graphics? If so...opinions?
How do I go about removing the actual push buttons for the trans and heater? I want to repaint the tiny little letters on each push button.
