dowel won't  come out... I need ideas as to how to get this  &%$#%^& 
thing out...

John, I had one stuck in my engine.  I ended up drilling a hole in the 
center, and then tapping threads in the hole.  Then I took a bolt with a 
long thread and ran it into the hole.  The bolt bottomed out on the 
block, and then it forced the dowel out of the hole...Brian
