Hi -I don't know why your source would tell you a 383 intake won't fit a 361 unless the 383 is a relatively rare Chrysler RB383 from the late '60s. All the 'B' engines, 350,361,383(not the one rare one mentioned above) and 400) manifolds are interchangeable. All the 'RB' intakes, 413, 426, 440, arae interchangeable. The early RB 383 interchanges with the other RB intakes.
