Re: carb whistle

Worn throttle shaft that goes through the carb base. These can be bushed during a rebuild.

Subject: carb whistle

We put a used 360 in my friend's car today, with a freshly-rebuilt
Thermoquad. There is no ported vacuum line on this carb, so we hooked
the distributor vacuum advance to a nipple on the carb base. It now
whistles until we give it the slightest amount of throttle. The whistle
will even stop when we just jiggle the throttle shaft on the carb. When
we unhook and plug it back up, the whistle goes away. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Sean
