Well I thought I recognized your name. And a nice 63 Sport Fury always
catches my eye, as it's my favorite 62-65 B-body. I just pulled the 440
out of mine yesterday to take to the machinist for a little work. Hope
to have it ready for the "Geezer Drags" at our local track this summer.
I may get to have my own father/son shootout too. My oldest son is
preparing a 66 Caprice w/ a 454. I know, I failed him a little in his
choice of cars. But he always was a little headstrong.

Yep that would be me ! It was really great doing that shootout with my
son
along with George and Andy Watkins. But wow was it a hot dat when we
did
it. I told my son that normaly I would never go racing when it was that
hot
as we were sweating like crazy in that heat and ran very slow that day.
When we went racing a month later it was a nice cool day as I ran an
11.52 @
116 on my only pass that day and my son ran 11.45 @ 117. I only got one
run
as I hurt the rear on my first pass and did not race it again so I could

still drive it the 45 miles home that day. I just set the rear up with
a
Detroit Locker that I will be putting back in the car. The guy Dave who
did
our shootout took alot of pics as I was hopeing they would use more pics
but
they did not use many and I got lucky as they put a pic of my red 63 on
the
index page also. Thanks , Ron Nies
