Dash paint

OK, next question. I'm about to prep my dash for paint (now that the 
head light switch is gone). What paint should I use? I was planning on 
using a good quality rattle can primer then a gloss black. I will be 
sand blasting and hand sanding where needed before priming. This dash 
has been painted at least once before so it will take a fair amount of 
prep before any paint is applied. 
Any other comments or suggestions?
