The carburetor.
I thought that was what I said.

The only thing that would make the motor rev when cold is a vacuum leak, 
or a choke closed, activating the fast idle function of the carb.
If it slows back down when warm, the choke has more than likely  
"un-loaded"., or the vacuum leaked repaired itself ( an unlikely occurance)
Since the choke is a part of the carburetor, you're right.
It is something to do with the carburetor.

Other than saying that, you're too far away to say much more than that.
