Re: 64-65, etc Console Plate

I'm with Bill on this one. When I noticed a company on
Ebay that was selling the 4spd. console top - same
company as earlier mentioned - I contacted them to ask
if they made a top for the automatic. The present
console top in my '65 Sport Fury is the "woodgrain"
version. When I first joined this group, I noticed a
photo of a chromed console top w/ribs. Since then, I
have wanted one(period correct "bling"?). Still, $300
seems pretty steep. In fact, I just bought a pretty
worn out top from an Ebay seller in Washington State,
for about $9usd, plus $30usd for shipping(outrageous).
I figure that a triple plate job will give me what I
want, for much less than $300usd. Then again, I have
seen replacement consoles(entire unit) listed on Ebay,
recently, for more than $1,700usd(OUCH!). Restoring
these MoPars sure isn't cheap, yet the family of
restorers - such as this group - is tightly knit &
extremely helpful. Would these auto console tops be
marketable? You bet they would!
