Rich Kinsley '64 Dodge Polara 4dr 318poly w/goodies I have really been going over my carbs, building spacers and cleaning up the Weiand manifold. I have noted that the manifold is a bit sloppy when it came to production. The rear carb studs are off a tad and make the spacer and carb mounting a teeny bit hard. There was some casting slag in one runner that I hadn't seen before and below the carb ports the center support wasn't centered exactly so there was a small protrusion on several ports that could back up air flow some. I know overdoing this stuff can cause problems but these were obvious imperfections so I very gently and minimally smoothed down just that portion that was wrong. I also have bead blasted and clear coated the top. J B Welded the heat crossovers and painted the underside of the manifold with the 1200deg ceramic engine paint. I feel that may also help prevent the heat to the carb. I'm anxious to get it back together and hit the track !!!! ---- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
