Re: 8 3/4 Pinion Seal Replacement?

You can also order/use the crush sleeve eliminator for the 489 case from Randys Ring & Pinion; this is what I elected to do.

By the way, I do have the completely rebuilt 742 case clutch Sure Grip w/4.10 gears for sale if anyone is in need. Please contact me off-list for questions/details.

Thank you,
Gary Pavlovich

My understanding is that if you have a 741 or 742 housing, you're cool.
If you have a 489, you have to go through the same crush sleeve process
that I am currently coing through.

Subject: 8 3/4 Pinion Seal Replacement?

I just bought a 1965 complete 8 3/4 differential for my 63 SF. I want
to change the pinion seal before I put it in the car. Is this as simple

as pulling the U-Joint yoke, replacing the seal and replacing the yoke?

I am concerned that pulling the yoke will change the pinion / ring gear
setup.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dennis C.
