Hi Butch The speedo in our 63 behaves like that too. We've tried to lubricate it (from avice on here - we used vaseline) but it only improved it for a few miles. We sent the cable off to a cable manufacturer and they said it was fine & did not need replacing. We've had a spare instrument cluster restored by AutoInstruments, who have rebuilt & recalibrated the speedo, hopefully this will do the trick. We hope to get it fitted over the next few weeks - I'll report back then. My advice would be to try some lubrication first, then check the back of the speedo if unsuccessful. Speedo goes crazy, at 10 then goes to 50, back down to 5 back to 40 etc. Very erratic. Question, is the cable bad, or is it is in the head? And is there a fix?
