You can't compare hp ratings because they changed how they were rated
between the time those 2 engines were built. Back when the 361 was built hp
was rated as gross. By the time the 360 came out hp was rated as net.

You make it sound like a simple choice, however I do not want to sink to
much money in the engine to begin with.
According to data the 360 has 180 hp with a 2 barrel as it is. The 361
with
4 barrel cast intake as it is has 305 hp. Is this correct?
