${top_text_ad} Welcome to the club! You will find a wealth of info here! A 440 will really perk up your 64! A stroked 400 will also, and look like the stock 361 doing it. I have a 64 Sport Fury, 383 right now, but have a stroked 400 ready to go in. Also have a Fury, this one will be a Max Wedge clone one of these days. For a trans, try to find either a 64 Big Block 727, or a 65 Big Block 727. The 65 is still cable operated, but has a slip joint type output shaft. This will do away with the ball & trunion u joint. You will have to either get a new drive shaft or modify yours. Good luck with your project. Bob K ----- Original Message ---- From: C. Sport Fury, I am not ready to begin building the car yet, but I need to start collecting parts. First will be the engine, it came with a 361, which I have, however I am told that high performance parts are hard to come by for this engine, a 440 was suggested. I the 440 is ok what type or model will fit the car. Second, I lost the transmission, for the car on a labor trade gone bad. The car has floor shift in it which I still have. Question what type, or model of transmission will fit, and allow the floor shift. I am just starting out on this adventure, I think the car is sound, no rust, from El Paso Tx. but I lack the basic knowledge, which I know all of you in this discussion group have.
